Dear Zeitgeist Members and Friends-
We are wishing you, your family, friends and loved ones a joyous, if quiet, Holiday Season.
We hope that you enjoyed this year’s activities before Covid-19 hit. Our monthly Film Series at the Clinton Street Theater was well attended, and while we had to cancel the Portland German Film Festival, we’ve managed to offer several online screenings throughout the year.
Our second Faschingsfest, a collaborative project with the German American Society was well-attended and a success, and we’re hoping to continue to work together on it in the future.
Dr. Matt Strauss’ public lecture about Friedrich Schiller’s Epic Theater in February was well received and well attended- thank you to all who came!
Petra Korn, Attorney- at- Law provided online talks about dual citizenship in May as well as in December- we hope you were able to tune in, and hope to host her again in person in Portland.
Both the Sophie Scholl Schule and the Deutsche Schule Corvallis are doing well. The teachers, parents and students have all risen to the occasion, and are continuing to offer classes online. We’re grateful for their efforts.
We are planning to resume all of our in-person programs in 2021, as soon as it is safe to do so.
Happy Holidays and Guten Rutsch!
The Zeitgeist Board of Directors
