Hawthorne Veterinary Clinic
Veterinarian
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I grew up in a small town in Thuringia, Germany and received my veterinary degree from the University of Leipzig in 1996. I have been working in private practice since my move to Portland in 2003. I strongly believe in the integration of different medical frameworks, guided by compassion, open communication, and appropriate diagnostics in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for my patients. I am passionate about co-creating a more equitable future for us all and changing the face of veterinary medicine in this country!
I am an herbal practicioner and certified in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. I have received training through Chi University in TCVM Palliative and End-Of-Life Care and Veterinary Food Therapy.
I love spending time with family & friends, and enjoy traveling, hiking, and playing ping pong. Gardening is a passion of mine and a way for me to connect with all living things and also with my late grandmother, who was an avid gardener and the first person who taught me about plants.
I share a home with my dog Hazel, who enjoys coming to work every day and loves to cuddle and do the zoomies!
